Summer girls

I am still working on Esmée’s outfits, so you will have to wait a bit longer for the promised Esmée picture spam. But I have made some summer outfits for Roux, Melisande and Dandelion, and you’ll get to see them instead.

Dandelion has a new very colorful print knit dress. It’s so short that it’s difficult to take pictures without showing more than you want, but the pattern should be distracting enough :D. The print is a bit too big for a doll that size, but I love it and Dandelion can wear stuff like that.

Roux sports a short muslin dress with a low waist and a hem that’s just finished with a small zig-zag stitch. That actually works quite well with muslin- if you cut the pieces carefully following the grain. I like this color for her, but I need to re-attach the button in the back. It’s supposed to sit tighter in the waist, but the button came off. That’s one thing I hate about those super tiny metal press buttons: the holes are so small and sharp that they rip the thread.

Melisande has a new summer dress as well, but when I finished it it wasn’t that warm. That’s why she’s wearing the woolen tights and boots.

  1. All these dresses are totally stunning. Dandelion`s I like best, I love that pattern! Very well made and so fitting for your girls personalities!

  2. More wonderful creations! Dandelion’s dress is quite different from your usual palette Mia and I love how you have placed the design of the fabric to create a balanced garment, it looks really beautiful on her.
    Big hugs,

  3. Wow, such lovely dresses! I love Dandelion’s dress, it reminds me of one I used to have. 🙂 Great work!!

  4. Dandelion’s dress looks great with that pattern. I don’t think it’s to big – I’ve seen some human summer dresses on the street recently and they had similar big prints. I like it very much.

Muslin dresses are wonderful. I’m not a fan of working with this fabric but the final effect is wonderful.

    1. Thank you! I wouldn’t put it on one of my other girls, but Dandelion can wear prints like that. I like working with muslin. The only thing that’s a bit more effort is drawing the pattern pieces. I use to flatten it as much as possible or iron it before I draw the pattern pieces.
