Nature girl and Diva

Same sculpt repaint project part one: nature girl and Diva

Haha, we’re not done with the repaint phase. I thought about creating a separate blog for all the non-BJD dolls, but I will just give them their own section. So please bear with me and the Barbiesย  for a little while. ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought it would be fun to take the same sculpt and create two different dolls. Some of you have already seen Christie (the nature girl) on facebook. But now her sister Nora is finished as well, and Nora is a complete Diva. Kind of like a girl who wants to look like a fashion doll, if that makes any sense.

I am of course one for the natural look, but painting Nora and making all the tiny bling was really fun. Since I didn’t really have any clothes for them I had to make some, so it took a little while longer to finish these two.

I hope you find their characters in their faces ;).

Christie – the nature girl

Christie’s colors are fresh and light โ€“ like mint, aqua or apricot. She’s freckled, fun and natural.

Nora – the Diva

Nora is a bit of a drama queen. She dreams of becoming a model, loves pink, violet and lots of jewelry. I wanted to give her a handbag, and tried a 65% print-out of one of my bag patterns. It was the only pink felt I had left, not quite the shade I wanted, but still :). Looking at the pictures I think I should have painted her nails as well. Maybe I’ll do that later.

This was really fun. I still have to giggle when I look at Nora, she’s such a Barbie. Lol. Which one do you like better?

  1. Oh Mia you have really outdone yourself! They are both beautiful and so well dressed, it’s difficult to choose one over the other, I love them both. Had you not mentioned they were Barbie dolls, one would never had known. This is how a fashion doll should look!!

    1. Thank you! From what I have seen in groups, most fashion dolls seem to sport the most glamorous ball gowns. Can’t compete there, but then I mostly go for the wearable outfits. Very much appreciated :). Barbie dolls have a surprising amount of sculpted detail once you wipe all the face paint off. I never noticed, because I never worked on them before.

  2. Wow, both the girls look beautiful, I’m really enjoying your repainting work! I agree with Kamelia, Nora’s eyes are stunning!

    1. Thank you so much! I am really glad my favorite followers and commenters enjoy the slightly different work, I was a bit worried about posting too many fashion doll repaints ๐Ÿ™‚
