Neala likes violet

Another new outfit, this time it’s Neala who’s the lucky one. And she got a bag to go with it.

  1. LOVE this! I especially love the jacket–I'm having visions of a longer version over a long gown for an elf maiden. The bag is super cute. What did you use for the medallion? You are so creative!

  2. Thank you :). I actually thought of making it longer first, but I thought the dipped hem would be more visible in a shorter version. The medaillion is some sort of scrap booking embellishment, it has tiny holes I used to sew on the orange beads. Which is what holds in in place.

  3. Very clever. I occasionally use scrapbooking materials for dress trims, too. And I agree that the jacket length is perfect for the dress. (I'm just trying to figure out how I can modify the design for one of my girls.)

  4. I basically cropped the top pattern below the bust and added a half circle and sleeves, which also end in a kind of quarter circle. If you have a top pattern it's easy to go from there. Maybe you can crochet the top like the fringed tops and add a half circle skirt?

  5. Haha.. Anytime. I imagine it would look even more elf-like if you'd attach a skirt on a top with fringes. Maybe in different lengths with beaded ends?
