It’s always fun to dress a new doll, find out what she wants to wear. I chose the breast body for Greta, so some of the patterns I made for the kids needed a little adjustment. I created some new patterns, like the pattern I used for the stripey blouse and blue dress. Greta is a little older than the other two girls. My clothes are generally rather plain, I just don’t have a talent for frills or embellishments. I always admire what Martha Boers creates and I love her costumes. But when I try to add lace, frills or other embellishments to garments I end up taking it off again because I feel it’s too much. Maybe the clothes I make look somewhat boring, but Greta didn’t complain, so I hope you like the clothes I made for her, too.
Antonia’s blue blouse and skirt, Greta’s striped blouses and the blue dress with the little beads are made from the same pattern. The turquoise cotton dress is one of the plain dresses, but I think the colour doesn’t need any extras.
A simple shirt with little dots, jeans shorts and a bit of sibling abuse…
This shirt has a light blue neckline to match the jersey pants. The melange jersey pants are part of a set, she has a jacket to go with it. The light yellow shirt and off-white corduroy pants need the red jacket for the color contrast, and I like how the color looks with her hair.
Her eyes are a beautiful bright blue (I found them at fleurdelysdolls), and I think colors with a bluish tint look best on her.
I hope you have a lovely week!
