Queenie got a subtle gradient dye from very light aqua to a darker shade, and the skirt received the same treatment. Since the shirt was white and the skirt unbleached cotton, it’s not exactly the same shade, but close enough to work as an ensemble.

And Judith made partner-look sweaters for herself and her husband. Gideon loves it.

Everett has a new sweater too, and his sweater fits the SID girls as well. He will have to keep an eye on it.

As some of you might know I have a garden. It’s just a small backyard garden with an old brick wall and lots of bee-friendly perennials. It’s also a very bird-friendly garden, I have two bird baths and a nest box for blue tits. Since I put it up at least 25 little blue tits grew up in it, and a lot of them seem come back to visit my garden. At least I think it’s them, they seem to know my garden well and are cheekier than other birds. I had a small bird feeder, but it fell apart after the first winter.

And with all the left over wood from doll projects I decided it was time for a new bird feeder. Finn and Peregrin helped to built it.

It has been out in the garden for three days now, and apart from a happily chirping clan of great and blue tits it has already been visited by several chaffinches, a jay, woodpeckers, black birds, a robin, a goldfinch and a bullfinch. I’ve been looking out the window way too much, I should be working ;). But it’s so much fun, and I wonder what birds will find their way to the take-away when word gets around. And since I made it with seed compartments I don’t need to refill it every day. Hopefully the construction will reduce the amount of droppings on the food, too.

And last but not least something entirely different:
I also just finished a new shirt for Everett…

The berry colored shirt is the only thing I didn’t make, it’s a mini-T I bought a couple of years ago. Everett likes corduroy, it’s a preference he shares with Walden. I made a suit for him, and the muscle body looks quite bulky with a shirt, a vest and the jacket. I should have tucked the shirt in ;).

Just in case you are wondering: Yes, he is wearing a padded dance belt. After I made his dance wear I thought something was looking off, and I guess you know what ;).

The first thing I checked was if the feet are really smaller. But apparently they are not, at least there are no visible differences in length. But the body itself is quite different- very slender and almost a bit boyish compared to the muscle body. But I guess I just have to get used to it. Claude’s head looks much more in proportion on it, now I just have to make new clothes.

The model body has longer legs, a lot less shoulder width and slimmer legs and arms. The legs of JID boy pants are too short of course, but the width fits. The pants I made for the muscle body are definitely too wide and short.

Posing seems to be the same, the model body is a bit floppier, but I will suede both. And they both pose so well compared to the big guys!

And some mugshots of my Raccoon girls. I am very happy with them. I knew I would like them, the sculpts are even more detailed than expected. Pictures with wigs and FU don’t really show the amount of bone structure, the cheek bones. Unfortunately it’s still a bit dark, so these don’t show all either, but the give at least an idea. I didn’t fasten the heads.

Another great thing about the Raccoon girls is that the hooks are wide enough that you can put the head on the neck without fastening it, and the hooks don’t slip up the arms if you unhook the hands. And while BJD doll profiles usually look a bit odd, their profile view is just as realistic as the front view.
