This post is my Happy New Year gift to you, maybe it’ll inspire you to make something new for your dolls in 2025. It’s a basic pattern set for Monst Savage dolls or other dolls in the same size. It includes a tunic, leggings, a bib overall and a dress top pattern (I just added the measurements for a gathered skirt to attach to the top to create a dress). The sleeve pattern is for both, top and tunic. You will find the pattern PDFs at the end of this post.

All the clothes my Monst dolls are wearing are created using these pattern pieces. I created the shorter dress tops by cutting without allowance at the bottom. I used the dress top pattern and added 1 cm at the bottom to make the shirt to go with the overall.

You will find previous posts showing off Monst clothes here, but I added some of those older pictures here as well.

First variations of the bib overall. I used the dart at the leg bottom to create a slightly curved shape of the pant legs to make Toffee’s brownish overalls. Both, the flowery overall and the one with the white stars, are made using the overall pattern in one piece. The straps are crossed in the back and attached to the little “bib” in the back. I used Velcro or press buttons.

Jellybean is wearing the white straight leg version without the darts and a different bib. When you cut the overall pattern at the dotted line, you can use the piece for pants, just as I did with the white overall. I added the pocket separately. The straps close behind the neck. The grey pants with the dark stars are made using the same pattern piece, I just added a waistband and didn’t close the seam at the back completely. The tops are made using the dress top pattern. I recommend adding a bit of length to make them end below waist line. They look nicer with the overall when the shirt seam is tucked in. The little collar isn’t included in the pattern, it’s just a slightly curved piece I attached as an afterthought.

The leggings pattern doesn’t need allowance (except a bit at the waist) when used for stretchy fabric. Milka wears them with her dress. Toffee has a stripy version to go with a matching top, the red leggings are worn with the tunic top.

And now the dresses. Depending on where you cut the top – with or without allowance at the bottom – you can create various dresses with different skirt lengths. The tunic can work as a dress as well. The first two pictures show variations in sleeve-, top- and skirt length. The third one shows a dress made with the tunic pattern piece and and added short skirt. Toffee in a knit tunic with stripes. Milka wears a skirt with a heart shaped bib. It’s so much fun to alter and embellish to create lots of different outfits. I hope you will have the same fun creating unique versions for your little ones using the pattern.

And Rachel has a new shirt, too.

I have been a bit slow lately, the constantly changing temperatures make my finger joints ache. Since I am mostly sewing by hand I need a little break. I wish you a sunny April 🙂

I just saw that I her very pointy fingers pulled a thread on her sleeves. Please just ignore it :). The light green flower pattern dress shows her cleavage with reduced shine.

And I received a surprise package from my favorite client. She became a dear friend over the years. You have seen the flowers she gave me occasionally, and now you will see some of the contents of her parcel. I know it was meant for Christmas, but I just couldn’t resist opening it.

There’s more, but the little hand crafted box with pokerwork and the lovely bottle with dried flowers and fairy lights make perfect props for doll pictures.

Catkins is fascinated by the flowers in the bottle. They are so pretty. The little star was attached to a card.

Toffee and Jellybean met a ginger bread girl :). It’s made of paper, but it looks so cute with the Monst girls. It’s a gift too, my blogger friend Linda sent it.

Milka’s new dress is a flowery dress in her favorite color, Milka chocolate lavender. I forgot to tie her shoes, those little laces are so fiddly. The shoes are Blythe boots, they are a perfect fit.

Jellybean wears checkered cotton in blue with a tiny bow in light blue. Her shoes are OB11 shoes I found on Aliexpress.

Or maybe white flowers on red with pink buttons for today?

Jellybean, Toffee and Milka look good enough to eat, don’t they?

I just noticed that I ripped the bib of Jellybean’s white overalls, I hope it’s not too visible in the picture. The little critter is one of my cat’s toys, but it looked so cute with Jellybean that I borrowed it for the pictures.

I forgot that I wanted to change the girl’s eyelashes. They are very dark and stiff, but I am not sure what to use instead.

Sylvie looks as if she wasn’t too happy about the weather either.

I don’t want to overdose the sweets. And I can hardly manage to find the bit of light I need to take pictures.

First more bib overalls. Milka wanted one with a bunny on the bib pocket. I added a pants cuff in light pink to match the bib. Toffee got a brownish one. I unpicked the little white bows with beads again and added buttons instead. Somehow the bows didn’t fit with her character, don’t you think? I feel like these girls need clothes that show attention to detail without being too frilly. I just noticed in the pictures that Milka’s overalls look a bit crumply around the waist. I forgot to take off her panties first.

Next up dresses. Toffee in plain knit stripes and Milka in a green dress with lace straps and a sewn-on heart as a “bib”.

This white dress isn’t really a dress, it’s an apron, but I add it to complete the sewn-on hearts show.

And last but not least: These little ones make lovely siblings for Perdita, they have matching head/body proportions.

I hope you are not bored yet with the cuteness, I have made so many dresses and there are still repaints to come.

Some of my favorites are Milka Strawberry Cheesecake and Choco&Biscuit. I could eat my weight in those two.

And since I just finished the next Monst repaint, I decided to name her Milka. The chocolate of this name comes in very distinctive purple wrappers, so the color choice for Milka’s outfit is obvious. I hope you don’t mind the “product placement” – I am in no way affiliated with the brand. I just thought it would make a fun picture. Wouldn’t mind a bit of product testing, though. Haha.
