Porch diorama finished

I had a good time today. It’s my birthday and I was very lazy, took a day off from work and went shopping for herbs and tiny pots. Unfortunately it’s rather cold and windy today, and since I could not enjoy sunshine and warmth in the garden as planned I finished the porch diorama instead. My appartment smells like thyme now :). The porch turned out exactly as I imagined it. The only drawback is that most of the plants are real plants, and they tend to grow. Maybe I can take pictures of a jungle in a month or so. And I have to take everything apart after taking pictures, I don’t trust my cat with the plants in the tiny pots. She’s usually quite careful, but she likes to eat grass and all sorts of other leafy stuff. Please excuse the many pictures that seem to show exactly the same scene. When I’ve finished a new diorama I am always a bit torn between showing life in the setting and showing all the tiny details. Maybe the angle of a girl’s head looks better in this picture, and in the next one there’s a detail that was cropped in the previous picture. So here’s life on the porch for you.

  1. Well that certainly looks like a day off work well spent in my books Mia! The photos of your finished porch are fabulous!! Don't ever apologise for sharing too many photos, I'm sure all your readers love seeing them as much as I do. Your kitties look wonderful along with all those very detailed pots and your dolls look lifelike. 10/10 for a lovely post full of inspiration!
    Big hugs,

  2. Thank you so much! I am glad you said that, I am sometimes a bit unsure if it's not a bit too much. Have a lovely day- on the porch or otherwise 🙂

  3. Amazing! I want to sit on that porch with a cup of coffee and a good book. I'm sorry I forgot your birthday but glad you spent it in such a relaxing and profitable way. I'm sure your dolls (and cats) are glad, too.

  4. My girls gladly invite you for coffee (and peach cobbler, if Sisen brings some) – and if you just want to read the cats will keep you company. I even have a swing chair. Oh, don't worry. I usually don't celebrate, and I am happy that you enjoy the results of my birthday project 🙂

  5. A bit late but happy birthday! 🙂
Diorama is amazing. I love the colour of the wall and all the details you put around. This is the place I would love to sit myself. 🙂
And your dolls are so beautiful.

  6. Thank you! I am happy that you would like to sit there, I made the porch I would love to have – and apparently it's not just me 🙂

  7. * comes here right after reading the previous post, dies by seing the first picture *

Belated happy birthday!! I understad what you say: I also wanted to show "life in the diorama" or the details! I wouldn't mind several posts of your gorgeous settings, honestly!

The kitties are so cute, and I love all the little details you put there! I wanted to point out a favorite photo, but I couldn't -they are all so perfect. This looks lovely, thank you for sharing the process in the previous work and the finished result <3
